Wheeling Island Racetrack & Casino is launching a fundraising campaign to benefit the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, which works to improve the health, education and financial stability of people who live in the Brooke County, Ohio County, Marshall County, Wetzel County, and Tyler County is West Virginia and Belmont County in Ohio.
Beginning this weekend, casino guests will see signage at the casino promoting the campaign. To participate, all patrons will need to do is drop off and gift the change that’s left on a slot voucher or racing ticket at wishing wells and large ticket barrels throughout the casino.
The initiative is part of Wheeling Island Racetrack & Casino’s parent company Delaware North’s “Game Changer” initiative across its gaming properties in the United States, with the goal of making a positive change in those local communities. For example, the Game Changer campaign at Delaware North’s Southland Casino Racing in Arkansas has already raised more than $16,000 for local charity since launching Sept. 1.
