Lace Up for Kids Back-to-School Shoes Program

All school-age children from low-income families, grades Pre-K-12, in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler Counties in WV, and Belmont County, OH, are eligible to receive a free new pair of shoes just in time for the new school year!

Wendy’s, WTOV9, Covestro, EQT, Comcast, Cardinal Operating Company, and United Way have partnered to help children in school get new shoes for the new school year. Families can apply for each of their school-age children to get a new pair of sneakers if they live in the counties of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler Counties in WV, and Belmont County, OH.

Applications to receive shoes ARE CLOSED! Check your email over the next few days for updates on application status.

Last year we were able to give out 1,000 pairs of shoes to children in need, thanks to generous donors like you! Check out this news clip of last year’s distributions.

Lace Up For Kids helps families in need to get a brand new pair of sneakers for their school-age children to start the new school year. The need is great, so donations are essential!

Each county will have its own specific date and location for pickup. Check back for any updates. The United Way will send emails to all those accepted once applications are closed to confirm pick-up dates and locations. Check back here for updated information regarding your county pick-up day.

Hancock County – August 12th, 11-2PM @ Swaney Memorial Public Library

Brooke County – August 8th, 11-1:30PM @ Brooke County Public Library

Ohio County – July 29th, 10-2PM @ United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley office

Marshall County – August 1st, 11-2PM @ Marshall County Chamber of Commerce Office

Wetzel County – August 7th, 11-2PM @ St. Vincent Church

Tyler County  – August 13th, 10-12PM @ Sistersville Church of Christ Annex

Belmont County – August 2nd, 11-3PM @ Ohio Valley Mall Community Room
