Help spread holiday cheer by spreading the spirit and giving to your local social services agencies. A lot of the time we think of giving money which certainly helps but two of our United Way member agencies are in need of cleaning supplies and hygiene items as well as clothing.
Family Services of the Upper Ohio Valley works with our aging population and their care-givers. Many of their clients have a very tight budget and could use help getting cleaning supplies as well as hygiene supplies. You can drop off donations at the Family Services office located at 2200 Main Street, 1st Floor, Wheeling, WV 26003.
Tri-County Help Center works with victims of violence. They help them through the difficult times and to get back to a healthy place. They could use a variety of hygiene items for their shelter as well as for the survivors that are moving on to their own place. They also keep several sets of sweatpants/sweatshirts/tees/socks/etc. for those leaving the hospital after a trauma. Please call 740-695-5441 to see how you can help.
