Since 1931 the United Way has partnered with individuals, businesses and organizations in support of local social service programs, therefore maximizing the effectiveness of a single donation. In 1999, the United Way created an Endowment Fund with the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, Inc. Today, income generated by this Fund offsets the administrative/operational expenses of the agency. Our goal is to increase the principle of the Endowment Fund so that the income meets the United Way’s total administrative/operating expenses. To that end, all of the funds raised from our Annual Campaign would be paid out to our United Way Agencies.
