December 17, 2020 3:00 pm Chef Showdown

Kitchen Seats – $40
Dining Room Seats – $25

“It’s come down to this Chef Showdown on Dec. 17th. Three Cook-Offs over two years, nine competitors from local eateries, and the Showdown comes down to the three winners.

Chef Gene Evans from WVNCC, Chef Ryan Butler from the Wheeling Brewing Company, and Chef Rocco Basil from the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston will square off during this first-ever event to decide, once and for all, who the best of the best chefs is.

The Chef Showdown will employ similar rules as CHOPPED! on the Food Network, but there will not be eliminations, and there will be a point system used by the three judges. While Steve Novotney will host the event, the three judges include Chef Chris Kefauver from WVNCC, Chef Matt Welsch from the Vagabond Kitchen, and Chef Tom Raymond from Oglebay.

Each competing chef will be asked to prepare an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert during the two-hour show that will feature a small studio audience. The big twist during the Chef Showdown will be the secret ingredients – for each round, each chef will be presented with a different ingredient they must incorporate into their presented dishes.

Limited tickets will be available in the kitchen where the audience can watch the competition live. Kitchen seats are $40 and dining room seats will be $25 where guests can watch the show being streamed live. Tickets include a lovely spread of food from local restaurants and wine. Money raised from the event will go to the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley and will help to feed families over the holidays.

The event will be broadcast live on the Watchdog Network, 98.1 FM WKKX and 97.7 FM WVLY, and also on Facebook Live.
