WHEELING, WV –  United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley today launched a food insecurities grant in partnership with Southwestern Energy (SWN). The grant is open to organizations in Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties that are providing food products and meals to local residents.

“Southwestern Energy is a strong community partner and aware that food insecurity is one of the biggest issues our community members are facing,” said Jessica Rine, executive director, United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley.  “This grant will fund programs addressing these concerns so that they have the funding to provide for more families.”

Amy Dobkin, community relations manager for Southwestern Energy, explained that their company is committed to giving back to the communities in which they operate. “As families continue to face hardships and challenges in our region, Southwestern Energy is grateful to partner with the United Way to administer grants to help with food insecurity,” said Dobkin. “There are so many organizations supporting individuals and families throughout the Ohio Valley, and we want to support them as they continue to fulfill their heartfelt missions of providing essential food items and meals to those in need.”
